Wang M, et al. - Researchers compared patients undergoing nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) with those undergoing skin-sparing (SSM) mastectomy regarding the complications rates, reoperation rates, and length of stay (LOS). They analyzed data of 217 patients undergoing NSM and 581 undergoing SSM. Observations revealed a higher complication rate among NSM patients vs SSM patients. The two groups showed no significant differences in LOS and reoperation rates.
