Is mortality-to-incidence ratio associated with health disparity in pancreatic cancer? A cross-sectional database analysis of 57 countries
BMJ Open Jul 13, 2018
Lee HL, et al. - The connections between the incidence and mortality rates of pancreatic cancer and how they illustrate healthcare disparities were assessed in this analysis. From the GLOBOCAN 2012 database, the incidence and mortality rates of pancreatic cancer were obtained. From a public database, the WHO rankings and total expenditures on health/gross domestic product (e/GDP) were obtained. According to the data quality, 57 countries met the inclusion criteria. The findings demonstrated that the mortality-to-incidence ratio variations for pancreatic cancer did not correlate with healthcare disparities among countries.
