Is ischemia-modified albumin a reliable tool for the assessment of acute pancreatitis?
Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management Apr 05, 2018
Sahin A, et al. - The ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) and adjusted IMA levels in patients with acute pancreatitis (AP) were determined. Additionally, the correlation between IMA and adjusted IMA levels and the severity of AP was investigated by analyzing the serum samples obtained from patients with AP on admission and 48–72 h after hospitalization, and from the controls, at the time of enrollment. No variation was demonstrated in the serum IMA and adjusted IMA values of patients with AP on admission and the controls. A rise was demonstrated in IMA and adjusted IMA levels rise alongside the progression of AP.
