Is computed tomography tractography reliable in patients with anterior abdominal stab wounds?
The American Journal of Emergency Medicine Feb 09, 2018
Sarici IS, et al. - This study was planned to determine the reliability of computed tomographic (CT) tractography to assess peritoneal violation in anterior abdominal stab wounds. Researchers also compared local wound exploration between conventional CT and CT tractography in the evaluation of peritoneal violation. They recognized local wound exploration as completely effective in determining peritoneal violation with anterior abdominal stab wounds. Compared to conventional CT, CT tractography was better in detecting peritoneal violation. However, due to the false-negative results, they did not recommend CT tractography in anterior abdominal stab wounds.
