Iridocorneal angle and anterior segment structure of eyes in children with cataract

Wang D, Li Z, Zhang F, et al. - In this prospective cross-sectional study of eyes of children with unilateral or bilateral cataract and fellow eyes, experts assessed the morphology of iridocorneal angle and anterior segment in eyes of children with cataract. A total of 55 eyes of 55 children with bilateral cataract and 41 cataractous eyes and 33 fellow eyes of 41 children with unilateral cataract were enrolled. It was discovered that in the eyes of children with cataracts, the iridocorneal angle is open. Moreover, eyes with progressed pigments on the trabecular meshwork demand to be cautiously monitored, and for those surgeons should be on the signaled regarding postoperative glaucoma.
