Iodine quantification to distinguish hepatic neuroendocrine tumor metastasis from hepatocellular carcinoma at dual-source dual-energy liver CT
European Journal of Radiology May 26, 2018
Kaltenbach B, et al. - Researchers probed the value of third-generation dual-source dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) iodine quantification to distinguish hepatic neuroendocrine tumour (NET) metastasis from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) in the non-cirrhotic liver parenchyma. Findings suggested an improvement in the differentiation of hepatic NET metastasis and HCC in non-cirrhotic liver, with the third-generation DECT with an assessment of iodine uptake, with normalized iodine uptake (NIU) showing the strongest diagnostic performance.
