Parkinsonism & Related Disorders Apr 01, 2018
Liu JB, et al. - Experts sought to examine the various non-motor symptoms (NMS) of the siblings of Parkinson's disease (PD) patients in the Affiliated Hospital of Yangzhou University. In contrast with the general cohort, siblings of PD exhibited a greater tendency to suffer from anxiety, depression and Rapid-Eye-Movement Sleep Behavior Disorder (RBD). The occurrence of Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) appeared to be more common in siblings of PD with onset age <60 than in the general population. Data suggested that PD patients and their siblings presented with common pathogenic genetic factors and early living environment for neurodegeneration.
