Investigating determinants for patient satisfaction in women receiving epidural analgesia for labour pain: A retrospective cohort study
BMC Anesthesiology May 18, 2018
An Tan DJ, et al. - Researchers determined clinical covariates related to low patient satisfaction in parturients receiving neuraxial analgesia between the periods of January 2012 to December 2013 in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Singapore. In this retrospective cohort study, several clinical determinants were identified that showed independent relation to low patient satisfaction. These included instrument-assisted vaginal delivery, higher post-epidural pain score, receiving epidural catheter resiting, receiving neuraxial analgesia at a more advanced cervical dilation, multiparity, and post-procedure complications headache, backache, urinary retention and neural deficit.
