American Journal of Clinical Oncology May 29, 2018
Keane FK, et al. - Authors assessed the outcomes and toxicity related to the use of intensive neoadjuvant treatment followed by intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT) in combination with resection or exploratory laparotomy. Findings demonstrated no association of IORT in addition to intensive neoadjuvant chemotherapy and chemoradiotherapy with elevated toxicity when used with resection or exploratory laparotomy. In patients with close/positive margins and patients with unresectable disease, it was associated with encouraging survival rates.
