Intraoperative nefopam reduces acute postoperative pain after laparoscopic gastrectomy: A prospective, randomized study

Na HS, et al. - In this study, authors ascertained if intraoperative nefopam would reduce opioid consumption and relieve postoperative pain in patients undergoing laparoscopic gastrectomy. In the acute postoperative period after laparoscopic gastrectomy, intraoperative nefopam decreased postoperative pain and opioid consumption. Hence, they suggested that after laparoscopic gastrectomy nefopam could be considered as a component of multimodal analgesia.
