Intraoperative measurement of thyroglobulin in lymph node aspirates for the detection of metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma
OncoTargets and Therapy Sep 20, 2017
Wang Y, et al. - In this work, researchers realized the diagnostic value of intraoperative thyroglobulin (Tg) measurement in fine-needle aspirates (FNA-Tg) of suspicious metastatic lymph nodes (LNs). Results suggested intraoperative FNA-Tg levels of suspicious metastatic cervical LNs as useful for diagnosing metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). As per findings, intraoperative LN-FNA-Tg seemed to play important role in determining which surgical procedure to perform.
