Intraoperative dexmedetomidine attenuates postoperative systemic inflammatory response syndrome in patients who underwent percutaneous nephrolithotomy: A retrospective cohort study
Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management Mar 07, 2018
Tan F, et al. - In this retrospective cohort study, authors investigated if intraoperative administration with Dexmedetomidine (DEX) could reduce the incidence of postoperative systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) in patients following percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL). In this work, univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis suggested that intraoperative DEX administration was a protective factor against SIRS after PCNL. Thereby indicating that intraoperative administration of DEX could be correlated with reductions in the incidences of SIRS and fever after PCNL.
