Intraoperative cholangiography during cholecystectomy in sequential treatment of cholecystocholedocholithiasis: To be, or not to be, that is the question? A cohort study
International Journal of Surgery Mar 22, 2018
Rizzuto A, et al. - Researchers, in this study, examined the utility of intraoperative cholangiography (IOC) in detecting residual stones in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) in the sequential treatment of common biliary duct or gallbladder stones. They noted that IOC use in sequential treatment allowed detection of a high percentage of residual CBD stones (11%) previously unrecognized. Thus it could be used on a routine basis in the sequential treatment of cholecystocholedocholithiasis.
