Intraepithelial CD8 (+) lymphocytes as a predictive diagnostic biomarker for the remission of oral lichen planus
Human Pathology Jan 06, 2018
Enomoto A, et al. - An investigation was executed in order to assess the role of intraepithelial CD8 (+) lymphocytes as a predictive diagnostic biomarker for the remission of oral lichen planus (OLP). Researchers discovered that remitting OLP could vary from refractory OLP with regard to the etiology and clinical behavior. Hence, it was deduced that the intraepithelial CD8 (+) lymphocytes could present as a predictive biomarker for remission and as an area for additional biomedical research in terms of the etiology and premalignant potential of OLP.
