Intradialytic hypertension is associated with low intradialytic arterial oxygen saturation
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Dec 02, 2017
Meyring-Wosten A, et al. - Researchers, herein, tested the validity of a hypothesis that peridialytic systolic blood pressure (SBP) change is associated with arterial oxygen saturation (SaO2). In chronic hemodialysis (HD) patients, it was noted that intradialytic SaO2 and the blood pressure response to HD were inversely associated. The presumption that possibly via sympathetic activation and endothelin-1 secretion, hypoxemia activates mechanisms that partially blunt the intradialytic blood pressure decline, was supported based on the findings.
