International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology May 28, 2018
Kou YF, et al. - Authors conducted a retrospective chart review at a tertiary care pediatric hospital to evaluate the role of endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) in the management of intracranial complications of children with acute rhinosinusitis. A significantly higher proportion of neurosurgical patients with positive Strep anginosus cultures were seen vs the ESS only group. Results demonstrated the association of early ESS with less need for neurosurgical procedures.
