Intra-detrusor injections of botulinum toxin type A in children with spina bifida: A multicenter study
Urology Mar 11, 2018
Hascoet J, et al. - The efficacy of intradetrusor injections of botulinum toxin type A (IDBTX-A) was determined in children with spina bifida. In spite of the clinical improvement in 66% of patients who received IDBTX-A treatment, urodynamic outcomes were poor and led to a low global success rate (30%). Significant improvement in the maximum cystometric capacity and compliance following the first IDBTX-A was noted and maximum detrusor pressure was found to decrease, except in the subgroup of patients with poor compliance.
