Interstitial lung disease in non-sicca onset primary Sjögren's syndrome: A large-scale case-control study
International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Jul 11, 2018
Gao H, et al. - A large-scale case-control study was performed to examine the common initial clinical presentations of primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) with interstitial lung disease (ILD) and investigated differences between sicca and non-sicca onset pSS-ILD patients. For the purpose of this investigation, 1341 SS subjects hospitalized between 2003 and 2012 were retrospectively reviewed. It was observed that non-sicca was a common initial manifestation in pSS-ILD. Researchers reported that as compared to sicca onset patients, anti-SSA presence, elevated RF titer and hyperglobulinemia were less predominant, and pulmonary complications were more progressive and severe in non-sicca onset patients.
