Interstitial lung abnormality is prevalent and associated with worse outcome in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement

Kadoch M, et al. - In patients referred for transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), the prevalence as well as clinical significance of high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT)-detected interstitial lung abnormality (ILA) was determined. Findings demonstrated that ILA was commonly detected among patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS). Notably, the association of ILA with increased mortality was reported in those undergoing TAVR.
