Interpregnancy weight change and adverse maternal outcomes: A retrospective cohort study

Lynes C, et al. - The associations between interpregnancy body mass index (BMI) change and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), pre-eclampsia (PE), gestational hypertension (GHtn), primary cesarean delivery, and vaginal birth after cesarean delivery (VBAC) were investigated in this retrospective cohort study. The researchers revealed that an interpregnancy BMI increase ≥3 units was correlated with an increased risk of all outcomes. These findings highlighted the importance of interpregnancy weight management.
