Internet addiction among adolescents may predict self-harm/suicidal behavior: A prospective study
The Journal of Pediatrics Mar 22, 2018
Pan PY, et al. - The goal of this research was to scrutinize the role of Internet addiction in the development of self-harm/suicidal behavior among adolescents after 1-year of follow-up. Yielded data illustrated that the relative risk of newly emerging self-harm/suicidal behavior for subjects who were classified as Internet addicted was 2.41 vs those without Internet addiction. It was inferred that Internet addiction was prospectively linked with the incidence of self-harm/suicidal behavior in adolescents.
