International normalized ratio to albumin ratio (PTAR): An objective risk stratification tool in patients with sepsis
International Journal of General Medicine May 16, 2021
Wang S, Ding S, Luo H, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective study to validate the usefulness of the prothrombin time–international normalized ratio (PT-INR) to albumin ratio (PTAR) in anticipating the mortality of patients with sepsis. The Multiparameter Intelligent Monitoring in Intensive Care III database was used to collect data on 4,536 patients. According to multivariable Poisson regression, the relative risk of PTAR to ICU mortality, hospital mortality, and 28-day and 90-day mortality in septic patients was 1.26, 1.24, 1.23, and 1.21, respectively. The PTAR scoring system is an easy-to-use tool for predicting the prognosis of sepsis patients.
