Interferon-free therapy for treating hepatitis C virus in difficult-to-treat HIV-coinfected patients

AIDS Jan 31, 2018

Mínguez C, et al. - Researchers aimed to investigate the use of direct-acting antivirals in a cohort of HIV/hepatitis C virus (HCV)-coinfected patients, mostly with factors that have previously been recognized as predictors of treatment failure. Findings revealed a high rate of sustained virologic response (SVR12). Cirrhotic patients with a liver stiffness of at least 21 kPa showed a higher probability of treatment failure. Increased rate of adverse events was observed with ribavirin use.
