Interactive mobile health intervention and blood pressure management in adults: A meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials
Hypertension Jul 28, 2019
Lu X, et al. –
To explore the impact of interactive mobile health (mhealth) intervention on blood pressure (BP) management and determine the optimal target population, researchers performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of 11 randomized controlled trials representing nearly 4,300 individuals in order to estimate the pooled effects of mhealth intervention on BP control. According to the findings, in comparison to the control group, mhealth intervention was related to significant alterations in systolic BP and diastolic BP levels. Across study duration and intervention intensity subgroups, the effects were found to be consistent. Overall, the possible utility of interactive mhealth intervention for improving BP control among adults, particularly among those with inadequate BP control, was suggested in this study.
