Interactive effects of traumatic brain injury and anxiety sensitivity on PTSD symptoms: A replication and extension in two clinical samples

Albanese BJ, et al. - Given the prevalence and link of traumatic brain injury with heightened risk for post-traumatic stress symptoms, researchers investigated the role of well-established cognitive-affective risk factors in explaining this association. In this work, they examined if elevations in anxiety sensitivity global score and subscales (cognitive concerns, physical concerns, social concerns) potentiated the effects of traumatic brain injury history on post-traumatic stress symptoms. Results here highlighted the significance of anxiety sensitivity cognitive concerns in the association of traumatic brain injury and posttraumatic stress symptoms.
