Interaction with CD68 and regulation of GAS6 expression by endosialin in fibroblasts drives recruitment and polarization of macrophages in hepatocellular carcinoma
Cancer Research Jul 04, 2020
Yang F, Wei Y, Han D, et al. - This study was attempted to evaluate whether and how fibroblasts and macrophages played key roles in the development of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It was shown that in cancer-associated fibroblasts, endosialin is mainly expressed (CAF) in HCC, and its expression inversely associates with patient prognosis. This study's findings demonstrate that endosialin-positive CAF promotes HCC progression and indicate IgG78 as a promising therapeutic candidate for HCC treatment.
