Inter-eye asymmetry of optical coherence tomography angiography vessel density in bilateral glaucoma, glaucoma suspect, and healthy eyes
American Journal of Ophthalmology Apr 01, 2018
Hou H, et al. - Authors aimed to assess the inter-eye retinal vessel density asymmetry in healthy, glaucoma suspect, and mild to moderate glaucoma subjects enrolled in the Diagnostic Innovations in Glaucoma Study (DIGS). They also investigated its potential utility for early detection of glaucomatous damage. Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCT-A) measurement could quantify the inter-eye vessel density asymmetry. Compared to the healthy eyes, glaucoma suspects had significantly greater vessel density asymmetry. Glaucoma suspects and glaucoma patients demonstrated significant differences in asymmetry of thickness parameters for all parameters.
