Insulin resistance in hidradenitis suppurativa: A case-control study
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Mar 09, 2018
Vilanova I, et al. - This case-control study was conducted to determine the prevalence of insulin resistance (IR) in subjects with hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). Researchers noted that frequency of IR was increased in HS. Hence, HS patients were suggested to be evaluated for IR and managed accordingly. HS was noted to be a significant factor for a higher homeostasis model assessment of IR (HOMA-IR) after adjusting for age, sex, and body mass index.
