Insomnia and risk of chronic musculoskeletal complaints: Longitudinal data from the HUNT study, Norway
BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders May 02, 2018
Uhlig BL, et al. - Researchers probed the potential relationship between insomnia and risk of chronic musculoskeletal complaints (CMSC) and chronic widespread musculoskeletal complaints (CWMSC). They also assessed the relationship between insomnia and number of body regions with CMSC at follow-up. As per data, an association between insomnia and an increased risk of CMSC, CWMSC, and CMSC located in 3 or more body regions was seen. For CMSC, risk ratios for specific body regions ranged from 1.34 for both the knees and the neck to 1.60 for the ankles and feet.
