The Laryngoscope Sep 13, 2018
Khalid MB, et al. - Authors sought to outline the common presenting signs of human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). An incipient epidemic, poised to surpass cervical cancer as the most common HPV-related cancer by 2020 was HPV-positive OPSCC. Findings suggested a probability of initial presenting signs to be often mistaken for benign processes. A better understanding of the initial presentation of patients with HPV-positive OPSCC was provided to the physicians with this study, which lead to earlier diagnosis and improved outcomes.
