Influences on rebubble rate in Descemet's membrane endothelial keratoplasty
Clinical Ophthalmology Dec 11, 2017
Mechels KB, et al. - Researchers intended to determine the factors which affected the necessity for a rebubble of the corneal graft. The results revealed that an increased specular cell count density could permit better placement of the corneal graft by allowing for better unfolding in Descemet’s membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) procedures. A decrease could be achieved in the postoperative complications through well-centered graft by increasing adherence. It was reported that postoperative management of IOP probably did not influence the rebubble rate. Hence, it ought to be left to the discretion of the provider to investigate its requirement.
