Influence of the 6-month physical activity programs on renal function in obese boys
Pediatric Research Apr 14, 2018
Lousa I, et al. - Authors attempted to analyze the consequences of physical activity (PA) programs on renal function in obese boys participating in 1 of the following 3 groups: Soccer (SG, n=13), traditional PA (AG, n=13), and sedentary control (CG, n=13). Findings illustrated a positive connection between age and lean mass index (LMI) with creatinine levels. No significant impact of PA on eGFR was revealed by the combined Zappitelli formula in obese boys. It was discovered that plasma creatinine was prominently influenced by lean body mass. Nonetheless, cystatin C tended to be a more accurate marker of renal function in this cohort.
