Influence of surfactants and fluoride against enamel erosion
Caries Research Jun 14, 2018
Zanatta RF, et al. - Researchers gauged the impact of surfactants related to sodium fluoride (NaF) on enamel erosion prevention, using an erosion-remineralization in vitro model. Fluoride adsorption on the enamel surface was reduced by all surfactants; as seen on KOH-soluble fluoride analysis. Hence, the enamel surface energy was changed by the surfactants tested (except for P20). On initial erosion, the protective potential of NaF was decreased by SLS, but the protective effect of NaF on enamel erosive wear was not interfered by any tested agent.
