Saito T, et al. - The associations between the social relationship domains as well as their combinations and incident dementia among community-dwelling older adults were investigated in this prospective cohort study. Five social relationship subdomains were demonstrated which were negatively correlated with incident dementia, implying that dementia could potentially be prevented by enhancing these social relationships. Future studies needed to investigate independent pathways between each social relationship domain and incident dementia.
