Influence of sleep-disordered breathing assessed by pulse oximetry on long-term clinical outcomes in patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention
Clinical Research in Cardiology Apr 05, 2018
Yatsu S, et al. - The impact of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) assessed by nocturnal pulse oximetry on clinical outcomes in patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) was determined in this prospective, multicenter, observational cohort study. The occurrence of major adverse cardiac or cerebrovascular event (MACCE), defined as a composite of all-cause mortality, acute coronary syndrome, and/or stroke, was noted. SDB determined by nocturnal pulse oximetry was shown to be related to worse clinical outcomes in this study populace. It was considered crucial to screen for SDB with nocturnal pulse oximetry in order to risk stratify patients with coronary artery disease.
