Influence of prognostic factors on lymph node involvement in endometrial cancer: A single-center experience
International Journal of Gynecological Cancer Jul 09, 2018
Widschwendter P, et al. - Researchers investigated the factors predictive of lymph node involvement and determined the distribution of lymph node metastases in the pelvic and para-aortic regions via a retrospective analysis. Analysis of data from patients with endometrial cancer treated with standard surgery and lymphadenectomy at the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the University Hospital Ulm in 2000 to 2013 was done. Significant predictors (lymphovascular space invasion, histological type, and tumor stage) of lymph node involvement in endometrial cancer were identified. They recommend performing lymphadenectomy systematically up to the renal vein in patients at elevated risk of nodal involvement.
