Influence of perioperative serum magnesium for cardiac and noncardiac morbidity and mortality
Journal of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Anesthesia Jul 27, 2018
Whittaker JD, et al. - Authors evaluated the influence of serum magnesium on 30-day mortality and cardiac and noncardiac morbidity after emergency peripheral vascular surgery. They noted an influence of perioperative changes in serum magnesium on short-term mortality and cardiac complications. Noncardiac morbidity was independently predicted only by a previous smoking history. Findings suggested consideration of this in the management of patients undergoing unplanned peripheral vascular surgery.
