Dungan K, et al. - This study investigated if baseline metabolic syndrome (MetS) alters the impact of intensive blood pressure control on cardiovascular (CV) outcomes and if effects varied by race/ethnicity. Findings revealed that irrespective of race/ethnicity, the CV benefit of intensive systolic blood pressure (SBP) control did not differ among subjects by baseline MetS status.
