Calkins KL, et al. - In this work, CD4 response to first antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimen was examined among individuals in routine HIV care, stratified by injection drug use (IDU)-related HIV acquisition. Researchers recognized similar CD4 recovery after ART initiation for IDU and non-IDU, conditional on consistent viral load suppression.
