Influence of growth hormone treatment on radiographic indices of the spine: Propensity-matched analysis
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Sep 12, 2017
Yun YH, et al. - Researchers sought to determine the impact of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) therapy on radiographic indices of the spine using propensity-matched analysis. Findings reported an impact of growth hormone therapy for idiopathic short stature on the progression of the scoliosis Cobb angle and apical vertebral translation on the coronal plane, as evident in radiographic assessment. Physicians should perform annual follow-up in patients undergoing rhGH treatment in order to assess the change in the curvature of the spine.
