Menopause Aug 31, 2020
Flor-Alemany M, Marín-Jiménez N, Coll-Risco I, et al. - Researchers aimed at ascertaining if and how dietary habits and Mediterranean diet adherence influence menopausal symptoms. From the FLAMENCO project, they assessed 172 women for menopausal symptoms using the Kupperman Menopausal Index and the Cervantes Menopause and Health Subscale from the validated Cervantes Scale and for dietary habits employing a food frequency questionnaire. Analysis suggest a possible benefit of lower consumption of poultry and skimmed dairy products and a greater consumption of vegetables and soy milk in some women with mild menopausal symptoms.
