Inflammation, substance use, psychopathology, and cognition in phase 1 of the clinical antipsychotic trials of intervention effectiveness study

Miller BJ, et al. – The aim of the present study was to explore the associations between inflammatory markers, comorbid marijuana and cocaine use, and psychopathology and cognition in patients with schizophrenia. Results of this study suggested that inflammation could be correlated with psychopathology and cognition in some patients with schizophrenia. There was preliminary evidence for differential effects of comorbid marijuana and cocaine use on these relationships.
