Infertility duration and preoperative sperm progressive motility are significant factors of spontaneous pregnancy after varicocele repair
American Journal of Reproductive Immunology Aug 12, 2020
Ren W, Qu J, Xue B, et al. - As varicocelectomy benefits different patients distinctly, researchers sought the possible factors of spontaneous pregnancy after laparoscopic varicocelectomy in infertile men. They assessed follow‐up data of 148 patients, all of whom had undergone laparoscopic varicocelectomy. Spontaneous pregnancy was reported in 74 (50%) of the couples. Per multivariate analysis, short infertility duration (≤ 2 years) and high sperm progressive motility (> 30%) were independent predictors of spontaneous pregnancy after laparoscopic varicocelectomy.
