Stein PD, et al. – This study investigated the mortality ascribed to the use of vena cava filters in the subgroup of stable patients with pulmonary embolism who received thrombolytic therapy. Researchers reported an attenuation in in–hospital mortality consequent to additional use of an inferior vena cava filter among stable patients with acute pulmonary embolism who received thrombolytic therapy, irrespective of the reason.
