Index serum hyaluronic acid independently and accurately predicts mortality in patients with liver disease
Alimentary Pharmacology and Therapeutics Aug 03, 2018
Plevris N, et al. - In patients with liver disease of varying aetiology and severity, researchers examined the ability of an index serum hyaluronic acid measurement to independently predict transplant-free survival. For this investigation, they identified patients with a hyaluronic acid measurement between 1995 and 2010. Inclusion criteria were met by 589 patients. The results obtained from this retrospective single-centre cohort study indicate that in patients with liver disease, index hyaluronic acid measurement can precisely and independently forecast liver-related and all-cause mortality.
