Independent effects of blood pressure and parathyroid hormone on aortic pulse wave velocity in untreated Chinese patients
Journal of Hypertension Aug 11, 2017
Cheng YB, et al. – This study was undertaken to assess the independent associations of carotidÂfemoral pulse wave velocity (PWV) with 25–hydroxy–vitamin D [25(OH)D], parathyroid hormone (PTH) and 24–h ambulatory blood pressure (BP) in untreated Chinese patients. In these subjects, an independent increase in arterial stiffness (as assessed by PWV) both with BP and with PTH, was noted. Essentially, BP remained the main driver of arterial stiffening.
