Incremental validity of Montreal Cognitive Assessment index scores in mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease

Dementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Apr 14, 2018

Goldstein FC, et al. - During this study, authors scrutinized the incremental validity of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) index scores and the MoCA total score with the intention of differentiating individuals with normal cognition vs mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer's disease (AD). In contrast with index scores, the administration of the entire MoCA was found to be more informative, particularly in distinguishing normal cognition vs MCI. Findings exhibited that a combined score presented with stronger incremental validity compared to the individual index scores.
