Increased risk of oropharyngeal cancers mediated by oral human papillomavirus infection: Results from a Canadian study

Laprise C, et al. - In this hospital-based case-control study conducted in Montreal, Canada, authors examined the data to estimate the relationship of oral sex behavior with an increased risk of oropharyngeal cancers (OPCs) mediated by oral human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. They found an increased risk of OPCs among candidates who started practicing it at age 16 years or younger in comparison to those with onset after age 30 years. They found a decline in this association when confined to HPV positive cases.
