Goldhofer M, et al. - In this study, researchers analyzed total hip arthroplasties with a large ceramic-on-ceramic bearing performed by two senior authors and realized that large diameter ceramic bearings could produce squeaking. This was particularly observed in female patients. Nonetheless, encouraging mid-term clinical results of a large ceramic-on-ceramic bearing were evident. In addition, long-term follow-up is recommended.
