Incidence, risk factors, and mortality of neonatal and late-onset dilated cardiomyopathy associated with cardiac neonatal lupus

Morel N, et al. – Dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), a well–known complication of cardiac neonatal lupus, is associated with high mortality rate. Its risk factors remain unclear. In this current study, findings give an impression that neonatal and late–onset DCM are two different entities. Researchers found that out of all the known risk factors associated with neonatal DCM, none predicted late–onset DCM.
